The merchant class has over the years been able to gain control over the masses by bait and switch.  The merchant mentality  has sophisticated into the corporatist where the investor merchant has taken our lust for material goods and morphed into Fascism where the investor hiding behind the limited liability of the corporation becomes the government. http://www.ratical.org/co-globalize/rkmGlblTrans.html

In order to rule they have been in control of the energy to manufacture and produce the food chain. Cattle replacing people on the land hurded the masses into cities _ milking parlors for cash cows where it was easier to milk the public for their labor as well as their slave wages. 

What is the purpose of a rotary economy where citizens are merely cash cows for a predatory investor class?

Globalization is the killing field of the autonomous community. The village system of life support and government is what the founding fathers and most of the planet were and are dealing with.  To take this 'back to the future system' and apply the Gandhi strategy in the twenty first century we can have our planet back and afford to eat as well.
